Two teenagers, marked by a recent trauma, having sex to escape their boredom and loneliness. I've read many comments on reddit, youtube, and other sites of people who disliked it and why. Most of them said the sex scenes were unnecessary and that it made them uncomfortable. Some others said that the story was plain, that it didn't have a solid meaning. And hey! I know it isn't for everyone, but I practically became obsessed with it. It's been about two years of me going on and on about how much I love the story and how I connected to the characters- especially Isobe.
The manga includes topics such as abuse, suicide, “chuunibyou” (teenagers with grandeur delusions), bullying, and other stuff I can’t even remember or want to mention.
I get depressed every time I read this manga, yet I keep re-reading it. The sighs, the words, the feelings. Everything is depressing.
Isobe’s brother is a key character although he’s never actually in the story. However, his interests are always present: Isobe looks for his own essence using the pieces that his brother left, which Sato will later take on. It’s difficult to explain, but when someone else’s interests become your own, a deeper connection is created. As the youngest sibling, some of my interests were acquired from my older siblings. Watching or listening to the things they like makes me feel closer to them somehow. Anyways, I once heard someone say this story was (to make it short) “Depressing teenage sex” and I totally agree! If you’re sensitive to certain topics of images, I would not recommend this. And! If you’re interested but can’t have a physical copy, there is a copy on the internet archive (Umibe no onnanoko).
P.S There's also a movie.

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.All About Lily Chou Chou‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.

The first thing I'll talk about will be "All About Lily Chou Chou" the movie and the music. I'll start off with it because this was the reason why I wanted to have a blog. I was 12 when I first watched this movie and I immediately fell in love with it.
This film is cinematographically beautiful; the natural dim lights, the green rice fields, the blue sky, they all make you feel as if you were in a dream or perhaps looking back at a memory. Two hours of continous melancholy and pain: bullying, prostitution, loneliness, suicide, and some other stuff. I won't spoil anything in case you haven't watched it yet, but I totally recommend it!
I found Lily, and with her, the ether. The ether was my escapism- where I could lose myself with the wind and the sea and there would be no pain. Lily's music (although it's a fake band made specially for the movie) healed a part of me. Her soft voice and the instrumental filled me with something I couldn't (and are still incapable) of describing. I could feel the ether by just listening to her songs. "Arabesque" is my favorite because I can really feel the ether when I listen to it. But for the past 2 years, the ether has been slipping away from me. It makes me truly sad, I wonder if the reason why I could feel it back then was because of my deep sorrow. I miss the ether.
Finally, I'll leave one of my favorite quotes from the movie: "The wound that does not heal. The wound that may heal. The wound that should have healed. It grows wider, wider. What if the whole body became one big wound? We can still revive, that is "the wound that heals." From:Lui-hua"
